Sally Shami, an alumna from Hebrew University’s MA in Nonprofit Management and Leadership Program, has built a dynamic career dedicated to community empowerment, resource development, and social impact. Currently serving as a Resource Development Manager at the Lutheran World Federation in East Jerusalem, Sally mobilizes vital support for healthcare projects and institutional growth. Beyond her international development work, she is also the founder of Salam, a social enterprise created to support Palestinian women artisans, generate economic opportunities, and preserve traditional embroidery and cultural heritage.
Her advice to students: "Choose the best available opportunity instead of waiting for the perfect one, and don't let other people's fears shape your decisions. Feeling unprepared does not mean you are incapable; confidence often comes after taking the first step, not before. Passion is important, but clear systems, continuous learning, and disciplined management turn ideas into lasting impact."
