CFHU Centennial Authors Spotlight Series w/ Sivan Slapak

Join us as we spotlight acclaimed Israeli and Canadian authors in a celebration of storytelling that unites us all.

Sivan Slapak, who lived in Jerusalem for 20 years before returning to Canada in 2013, has had her short fiction and essays published in various Canadian literary journals and anthologies.

Her debut book, Here Is Still Here, was a finalist for the QWF Concordia University First Book Prize. Sivan resides in Montreal, working in the arts and culture sector.

Moderator Debbie Dankoff had been reviewing books for over 15 years at various Montreal book clubs. She took a break to kick cancer in the butt and earn a Master’s Degree in Philanthropy and Not for Profit Leadership. Currently, she is the VP of National Development for the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University, and excited to be back reviewing as part of the book club showcasing HUJI alumni.
